The Refugee Action Collective (Victoria) organised a protest outside the Park Hotel on October 30 to demand the refugees being held there be released into the community.

Twenty two of the 45 men detained inside the prison hotel have tested positive for COVID-19. The federal government refuses to move those who are not yet infected to a separate facility.

Refugees have been reports that the sick have been refused adequate medical treatment. Most have been detained for more than 8 years now and are still waiting to be processed.
