The federal Coalition government is exerting a lot of pressure on states to re-open schools. But what is the reality on the ground for school teachers working in the midst of a pandemic?

This episode of Green Left features a roundtable discussion with school teachers Mary Merkenich, David Linden, Vivian Messimeris. All three are union activists and members of the Socialist Alliance.

They discuss whether or not it is safe to reopen schools, their responses the federal government; and how schools that are open should address health and safety for workers and students. The podcast also addresses what teachers are campaigning for during this crisis.

Hosted by Jacob Andrewartha, Meghan Street, Zane Alcorn. Produced by Zebedee Parkes
