The Refugee Action Collective organised a vigil on February 16 to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the murder of Iranian Kurdish refugee Reza Barati by guards at the Australian-run detention centre on Manus Island.

Barati was one of many refugees who have died as a result of Australia’s cruel refugee policies which have led to murder, medical neglect or suicide.

Labor’s policies on refugees includes detention, boat turn-backs and deportation to the countries from which the asylum seeker fled.
