Two hundred people attended Geelong Rainbow’s annual Pride march on February 17, which was followed by a festival celebrating LGBTIQ performers.
Both events showcased the strength and diversity of the LGBTIQ community.

Sarah Hathway, Socialist Alliance Councillor for City of Greater Geelong Council, opened both events by encouraging people to raise their ideas and concerns with local government.
She called on people to sign a petition, hosted by Rainbow Local Government, urging council to implement the Victorian government’s Rainbow Ready roadmap.
