Masterpiece: Zen on Wheels — Japanese car manufacturers are designing their products by analysing what constitutes the consumer's direct perception of a car. "Responding to Zen philosophy" we're told in the promotional material — or is it just obvious marketing? SBS, 8.30pm, Monday, August 29.

The Cutting Edge: Without Choice: War, Politics and the People of Burma — In its 45th year of civil war this documentary charts the politics of the Burmese insurgency movement and society. From the student demonstrations in 1988 to the last few months where the Rangoon junta has once again gained the upper hand, Without Choice provides a chilling and up-to-date insight into Burma. SBS, 8.30pm, Tuesday, August 30.
