Documentary: After the Flood — Tampering with rivers in the name of flood control leads to worse flooding, argues this program. SBS, Saturday, March 25, 2.05pm.

Wild Sanctuaries — First of a 13-part French documentary series that focuses on the world's finest national parks. This episode looks at underwater national parks, especially Australia's Great Barrier Reef. SBS, Tuesday, March 28, 8pm.

Life Chances — Looks at the lives of seven children born in the same year in the inner Melbourne suburb of Fitzroy. The program highlights the differences in the opportunities and choices offered to the children, now aged four. It is based on an ongoing study by the Brotherhood of St Lawrence, which is following 167 families with a child born in 1990, by studying income, education, health and community service issues. SBS, Tuesday, March 28, 8.30pm.

Movie: The Dark Years (1993) — A film about life in the Basque country in the 1950s, as seen through the eyes of eight-year-old Itziar. Her life unfolds against the backdrop of the political oppression of the Basque people under the Franco dictatorship. SBS, Thursday, March 30, 9.30pm.

Watergate — A five-part series on the greatest scandal in US history. In 1974, Richard Nixon became the only US president to resign. 20 years later those who were found guilty of Watergate crimes, and those who investigated them, tell the full story. ABC-TV, Thursday, March 30, 9.30pm.
