CPSU campaign struggles to its feet

After the recent round of Community and Public Sector Union mass meetings, bans are now being placed in many areas of the Australian Public Service.

The bans include cutting off information to government ministers, withholding information that would be used in budget cuts, prohibiting the devolution of functions to state and local governments and not banking revenue.

Other department-specific bans are being considered by state delegates committees. These will be forwarded to national delegates committees for implementation nationwide after endorsement by the CPSU National Executive.

At the same time, the CPSU NE has decided on a national day of action, on a date to be set. This will be an opportunity for CPSU members to dramatise the loss in services that would follow Howard's cuts.
