Why

CO-CREATE, GENERATE! LIBERATE!
Join us for the third workshop in the Creative Activism 2025 series in the lead up to the federal election. Join the fun and creativity as we get down to actual production of materials for future actions.

WORKSHOP OUTLINE
For this hands-on workshop, we will continue working on the projects we brainstormed and sparked off in the first workshop and support their creative development - from the concept creation, technical production, finishing, delivery and performance.

Banner making guru Judy Blyth will help us make some banners and documentary photographer and long-time climate activist Nancye Miles Tweedie will talk about how best to liaise with her (and other activist photographers) before events to ensure optimum framing for maximum exposure.

To stimulate ideas and creative development, several ‘incubators’ will join us (subject to availability).

1. Sign/banner writing guru (Judy Blyth)
2. Imagery, photography and messaging (Nancye Miles Tweedie)
3. Writing satire for street theatre (TBA)
4. Preparing props (former WAAPA Design graduate)
5. Costuming (Sally Knowles)
6. Scoping locations and due diligence (Sally)
7. Comedy as a disruptor for social change (surprise guest)
8. Using Humour When Things are Dire (podcast)

WHAT TO BRING
