Deja vu?

Nearly six year ago, Green Left Weekly started production with a cover that demanded "Stop the War". The war was, of course, in the Arab-Persian Gulf, and the slogan "No blood for oil" became the clearest explanation of what the war was really about.

This week a different US president is again bombing Iraq to enforce US control over the region's resources.

Then, as now, Green Left Weekly is the only news source that gives you the news without the hype, on this and many other issues.

In 1991, Green Left provided the alternative view on the war, significantly more real news than the 24-hour CNN coverage that bombarded our living rooms at the time. In 1996, Green Left Weekly has covered a huge variety of news, views and issues from all parts of the world.

From global warming to Third World poverty, from the fight against the Howard's slash and burn agenda to politics in the Asia-Pacific region, Green Left brings you what you need to know. Keeping activists in touch with world and Australian events is what Green Left is all about, and we rely on the support of our readers to continue to do this.
