Demands won:
- Tutorial sizes to be capped at 30 until autumn 2000;
- Employment to be guaranteed for five staff crucial to a number of courses continuing;
- No internet-only subjects to be offered;
- Enrolments to be made not only via the internet;
- No charge on subject outlines and documents from the Student Learning Centre;
- Detailed financial data to be available to the student association. This will include a clear breakdown of spending on academic staff, administration, capital works and general staff;
- General student meetings and open forums to be held to increase communication between administration and students;
- An independent safety audit to be held, two additional full-time security staff to be hired, the security service to regain use of a car, and an increase in female security staff presence;
- Six months of free printing to be provided to students;
- 24-hour weekday access to computer labs to be provided as well as extended hours of access on weekends;
- Sanitary pad and tampon machines to be installed in female toilets, condom machines to be installed in both female and male toilets, safe needle disposal units installed in all toilets;
- Students with disabilities to receive a letter on the proposed level of disabilities services, may apply for special consideration so that services are increased to meet their needs;
- Varied-price accommodation to be provided for international students as well as free transport to and from the airport;
- At least one international student adviser to be provided on each campus;
- A 24-hour support service to be provided for international students;
- The university to lobby the state government for student concession cards to be made available to international students;
- The university to develop a policy for dealing with international students who have come from countries in crisis; and
- All policy documents and marketing material that relates to international students to be reviewed by international students in a genuine consultation process.
