Why

A farm-to-table event where your attendance will help save the farm from destruction by coal seam gas. How often does a chance like that come by?

Tickets are $50 for a single ticket and includes a full meal plus beer, wine or non-alcoholic drinks, so bring your friends and family along! Tables of 10 are $450!

Lock the Gate’s Farm to Table Lunch is a community event where we’ll eat local food, sample good drinks and tackle a serious problem – Queensland’s ever-expanding gasfields on our best agricultural land.

We’re celebrating Queensland’s food bowls and bringing together farmers working to save their properties from mining with eaters and activists in Brisbane who might just hold the key to making politicians listen and take action in the leadup to this year's Qld state election.

The Darling and Western Downs are critical to urban and suburban food security, yet CSG and coal mining expansions pose serious threats to agricultural land and water.

The long table lunch will be held at Northey Street City Farm, known and loved for its celebration of local producers and its work promoting, supporting and providing education around sustainable farming practices. We’ll have food from local farms, including Belvedere Farm on the Sunshine Coast, cooked with fire by Brendan Chan from The Village Pickle.
