Why

Please join the Kurdish community and friends to mark the annual global day to call for the freedom of Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan who has been imprisoned by the Turkish state since 1999. For much of this time, Öcalan has been held in solitary confinement, which amounts to torture. For the last four years, he has been held in absolute isolation in Imrali Island prison, without even contact with family members or lawyers.
