Sharpen your pencils and start brushing up on your general knowledge. We're back! Our annual(ish). The Friends of Hebron Trivia with a Cause is on again.
The new school year in Palestine starts in September and we are raising funds to continue our support for the Dkaika School Access Project.
The long distance between educational institutions and the rugged desert road connecting them to the community of Dkaika has meant a daily trip on foot through the mountains. Such a trip has made the participation of (specifically female) students in the educational process less likely.
Funds raised go towards a driver and vehicle to provide safe passage for young students to school and University, including young women.
Dkaika has faced a targeted campaign of isolation and destruction. One way of making sure it survives is the provision of basic services, including education.
With your help, Friends of Hebron will support students to continue with their education by providing transport to the closest high school and university, through the Dkaika School Access Project.
Young women, in particular have benefited from this opportunity to continue with their education as previously they could not travel safely outside the village.
