Why

Celebrating and Raising Funds for SAVE OUR SONGLINES and DISRUPT BURRUP HUB
Presented by Stock Records and Disrupt Burrup Hub
Join Selfless Orchestra for a powerful evening of music, activism, and storytelling, as they launch Absonant and take the next step in their journey to unearth Australia’s hidden stories and voices.

Absonant – meaning dissonant or inharmonious – confronts the urgent and tragic dilemma facing Murujuga (Burrup Peninsula) in northwest Western Australia. The song reflects the dual forces threatening this sacred land: the memory of a 19th-century massacre of Indigenous peoples and the modern-day industrial threat posed by large-scale energy projects, endangering ancient rock art while exacerbating environmental destruction through greenhouse gas emissions.

The event will not only celebrate the single’s release but also highlight the ongoing efforts of Disrupt Burrup Hub, raising funds for the Save Our Songlines movement which advocates for the protection of Murujuga’s cultural and environmental heritage.

The forthcoming album Terra Nullius is an exploration of the colonial doctrine that has shaped Australia’s history and its people. Through immersive live orchestral performances, evocative visuals, and authentic voice recordings, Selfless Orchestra delves into Australia’s complex legacy—from the Maralinga Nuclear Tests to the Woomera Detention Centre. Terra Nullius is a call to reconnect with the wisdom of Australia’s First Nations and heal our relationship with the land.

Be part of the movement to protect the songlines and landscapes that hold Australia’s oldest stories.
