Why

Please join us in the call for Peace – to oppose militarism and the drive to war - especially in our region, and the Middle East; and to call on the Australian government to sign the Ban on Nuclear Weapons. Meet at 2pm at the Rockingham War Memorial to form a peace song chain to the foreshore at Churchill Park to hear from a few speakers, share your ideas around AUKUS and peace, visit our info and merchandise stall, sign our petitions, lend your voices to peace songs and join Jo Vallentine in the Elm dance. This is a family friendly event.

The UN General Assembly has declared the 21 September as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace - to encourage the conversations that are needed to bridge differences and create connections, and to encourage people to think what a peaceful world would look like and how it might be possible to build it. We acknowledge the true custodians of the land on which we meet and pay our respect to the elders, past, present and emerging – always was, always will be aboriginal land.
