Israeli forces have killed four Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, according to a March 13 AAP report, just hours after Hamas called a halt to Israeli aggression in order to for a ceasefire to be observed.
Three of those killed were members of Islamic Jihad, a spokesperson for which commented: "The Zionist enemy has no interest in calm."
"There must be a commitment by Israel to end all acts of aggression against our people, assassinations, killings and raids, and lift the (Gaza) siege and reopen the crossings", Palestinian Authority Prime Minister and Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh said, according to AAP. "We will not abandon you, our people in the West Bank", he said. "Aggression against you is aggression against us."
An Israeli military spokesperson claimed that the Islamic Jihad members had been responsible for terrorist attacks against Israeli civilians.
