Letter from Craig Johnston

Issue

The following letter was sent by imprisoned union militant Craig Johnston to "Bagman" (AKA Denis Evans) 3CR Community Radio's Stick Together Show.

Please thank all your listeners for their support. I am doing extremely well and in high spirits. All the crims and screws treat me well. Most of the screws are union members and a number have told me they believe it's wrong I'm in here. I've got a job in the gardening crew and first sign of rain and we walk off the job.

I've fantastic support from unions and unionists all around Australia. So all my enemies, government, bosses and yellow unions, must be disappointed. I'm walking 5-10kms a day and getting fit. Being a political prisoner, I read a lot and am certainly educating myself on other political prisoners, unionists who have been gaoled in Australia. Did you know the Age newspaper was started around the Eureka Stockade time as a voice for democracy and fairness. I'm sure the original editors would turn in their grave at the Age at their biased attack on the Victorian branch of the AMWU, Workers First and myself.

Dare to struggle,
dare to win!
Yours in unity
Craig Johnston
