Why

Stop doom-scrolling. Your device can’t provide the kind of connection you’re seeking. We are gathering in person to share music, art, radical ideas and good company. Join us for a free community event organised outside the confines of technocapitalism.

Meet new people. Catch up with old friends. Soak up some poetry. Maybe even dance a little. At a time of rising fascism, it's crucial we create and maintain non-profit spaces where we can converge face-to-face and build community.

The 'no phones' theme isn't a hard-and-fast rule (it's ok to have a phone on you) but we encourage everyone to be present in the space and resist getting sucked into your device.

Featuring hip-hop/folk band Rivermouth, punk/folk/who-knows-what-to-call-it crew Clover Love, plus a bunch of other musicians and DJs late into the night – full line-up to be confirmed shortly.

The evening will include a community announcements section where you can promote community events/projects/protests, as well as a few words from Remah Naji, Greens candidate for the federal electorate of Moreton.

We'll hopefully also have an open jam at some point, so musos feel free to bring instruments along.

This is a free, all-ages event held at KEPK gallery (a warehouse space about 600 metres from Yeerongpilly train station).

The main performance space and toilets are wheelchair accessible.

This event is proudly anti-racist and queer-friendly.

Everyone's welcome except TERFs/fascists/genocide apologists.

The pizza oven should be cranking out pizzas for $12 a pop. We'll be serving free chai (assuming we can remember where we put the urn) and maybe some other snacks if we get organised in time, but you can also BYO food etc.

We strongly encourage mask-wearing if you've recently been exposed to anyone with cold/flu symptoms, and to stay home if you have a runny nose/sore throat.

If there's something you'd like to contribute to this event - e.g. fire-twirling, live art, a zine exchange - please email us at hello@remahformoreton.com and we'll see if we can make space for you.

This event is organised on Jagera and Turrbal country. Sovereignty never ceded.
