According to a new survey by Mossawa, the Advocacy Centre for Arab Citizens in Israel, 45% of Jewish Israelis oppose the decision to reopen the investigation into the October 2000 killing of 13 Israeli Arab citizens by Israeli police and military. The survey also found that while 60% of those surveyed believed that "anti-Arab" racism did exist in Israel, 29% did not believe that Arab citizens were the target of racism. Thirty-five percent of Israeli Jews also favoured the elimination of Arabic as an official language.
