The Siege of Salman — The author Salman Rushdie recently announced that he is going to try to lead a more open life. He has been in hiding for more than four years since Iranian authorities issued a death sentence against him for his book The Satanic Verses. Sunday Concert: Luka Bloom — Luka Bloom is the new voice of Irish music, or so say the critics. His songs reflect the concerns of Ireland today as well as universal themes of love and loss. He is also Christy Moore's brother. ABC Radio National, Sunday, November 14, 4.05 p.m.

The Boy in the Gap — A documentary celebrating the revival of traditional Irish music featuring one of its driving forces, Sean Og, a founder of the Chieftains. With his father Sean Potts, he examines how music is passed from generation to generation. This is also a musical journey, capturing the sounds of Carrick on Bannow in County Wexford. Stormy Sunday! — The team that bring us Sydney's best blues and black music radio show, Stormy Monday, (every Monday, 9 p.m. on 2MBS-FM 102.5) are holding their annual fundraising bash. It kicks off at noon and will run until midnight on Sunday, November 14, at the Bridge Hotel, 135 Victoria Rd, Rozelle. The day features just about every major Australian blues band live, as well as screenings of rare blues and jazz videos, give-aways and lots more. The day is dedicated to the memory of Stormy Monday presenter Chris Dell, who died earlier this year. All funds raised will be shared between 2MBS-FM and the Cancer Council of NSW. Awaye: Museums and their Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander policies — Are museums the "keeping places" for artefacts, and how do Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Islander people maintain primary rights over their cultural heritage? Awaye talks to the Australian Museum and the South Australian Museum as well as the controversial Strehlow Centre about their particular policies. ABC Radio National, Monday, November 15, 10.05 a.m. and 8.05 p.m.

Beyond Belief: John Twobirds — Native American elder John Twobirds is in Australia to share his knowledge of ancient ceremonies, legends and medicine of the Native American people. 2NUR-FM Newcastle, Tuesday, November 16, 9 p.m.
