PERTH — On September 14, Resistance was tipped off that Pauline Hanson and her media circus was about to make a staged appearance in the busy Hay Street Mall.

We raced out of the Resistance Centre, down to the mall and started chanting. The media scrum swung around to focus on Resistance. A surprised Hanson shouted, "Look at me, look at me!".

Our noisy protest meant that Hanson couldn't speak to anyone. David Oldfield said to one Resistance activist: "Oh, you must be from Resistance. That explains a lot."

Channel 10 cameras concentrated on our banner advertising the details of the September 30 "Vote with your feet against racism" rally, which were then broadcast on the evening news.

That night, Perth Resistance mobilised again for a One Nation public meeting in the small country town of York, 100 kilometres from Perth.

There were lots of police, some on horses. Some of the police thought we were doing a great job and one asked us to sign a placard to put up in their office. We signed it: "To the boys from Teams 2 and 5, from the Resistance Anti-Hanson Hit Squad".

Together with a rowdy crowd of Aboriginal youth (and a few parents) holding a big Aboriginal flag, we chanted loudly outside the meeting.

Inside, Resistance members attempted to speak. Someone threw a jumper over one Resistance member's head just as he was about to speak and Oldfield announced that "this isn't a public meeting".

The next day, we followed Hanson around, chanting and holding up placards as she attempted to talk to people at shopping centres.
