Brisbane Musician Phil Monsour has released "Stand With Us", a new single in support of the protests and blockade of the Kangaroo Point Hotel/Prison in Brisbane.
It was filmed on location in Kangaroo Point, where around 120 refugees are imprisoned by the Australian government, some for up to seven years. The blockade has three simple demands:
- Free movement out of the complex.
- End involuntary transfers.
- Full community release by Christmas.
Phil has performed regularly outside the hotel for the refugees locked up inside.
"Stand with Us" was recorded by Phil Monsour for the One Song One Union album, featuring songs written for eight different unions and community groups.
