Why

We are invite you all to celebrate World Kobane Day with the Kurdish community around Australia.

Kobane is the town in Rojava/NE Syria  that changed course of history, when the heroic popular resistance led by the Kurdish People’s Protection Unit (YPG) and Kurdish Women’s Protection Unit's (YPJ) fighters broke a bloody siege by Islamic State (IS) between September 2014 and June 2015.

Since the first outpouring of global solidarity on November 1, 2014, World Kobane Day has become a source of joy and encouragement for all oppressed peoples around the world.

The Kurdish Democratic Centre of Victoria in coordination with our  Federation has organised this seminar. with  a special guest speaker Sinam Sharkany Mohamad, the offical representative of the Syrian Democratic Council in the US.
