Rage Against Racism

BRISBANE — A Rage Against Racism was held at the University of Queensland on September 4. The event was organised by the RAGE ticket in the student union election.
The money raised will go to RAGE's anti-racism campaign and to help fund those travelling to the national Fighting Racism Conference in Sydney on September 27-28.
The Suffragettes, Ockam's Raisin, Radio Atlas and the Blood Party donated their time and energies. Speakers included Trish Jones from the Anti-Racism Campaign and Roberto Jorquera, RAGE candidate for president.
According to Jorquera, "If we are going to build a campaign that will defeat Howard and Hanson's racism, we will need to involve large numbers of people.
"The student union must involve and activate students. This means it must be democratic. This stands true for all campaigns for students' rights and against injustice in our society."
