Abortion campaigning in Hobart

By Kamala Emanuel

HOBART — The prosecution of WA doctors for performing an abortion has once again brought into public view the anti-abortion laws across Australia.

Hobart pro-choice activists are organising two events as part of a campaign to repeal all abortion laws which is growing across the country.

At the University of Tasmania, the Women's Collective and the Resistance Club are organising a teach-in at the refectory on April 3 at 1pm which will call for the repeal of Tasmania's abortion laws, the dropping of the charges against the WA doctors and for no more criminal proceedings for abortion.

On April 6, the Democratic Socialist Party is organising a "Politics in the Wholefood Shop" public forum on the issue. Telephone Kamala on 6234 6397 or Sam on 6226 2852 to get involved.
