You won't find John Laws or Alan Jones making extravagant supportive statements about Green Left Weekly on their radio programs and you certainly won't find Rupert Murdoch adding GLW to his investment portfolio. GLW can't and won't pay "sponsorship" for false praise and, more importantly, the owners of the big business media don't agree with what GLW has to say.
Green Left Weekly remains a defiantly independent voice committed to defending workers', women's, migrants' and Aborigines' rights and struggles for justice. It advocates for the environment and peace, exposes the lies and distortions of the establishment press and assists activists to better understand our world and how to change it.
The next issue of GLW will be its 400th and we plan to celebrate! As well as holding special events in cities around the country (see pages 28-29), we are making a once-off Green Left Weekly subscription offer: until April 3, you can have a two-year, (88 issues) subscription for just $120 or a one-year (44 issues) subscription for $60.
Just phone our subscription hotline on 1800 634 206 (free call) with your credit card details, or send your name, postal address, phone number and the subscription details to PO Box 394, Broadway NSW 2007 to reach us by April 3.
Better still, why not drop in to your local Resistance Centre (addresses on page 2) during the April 1-2 weekend and lend a hand in our national subscription phone-a-thon. Putting in an hour or two on the phone will help swell the number of people regularly receiving GLW and it's a chance to meet and talk to other green left activists.
If you can't make it into the centre, get on the phone to all those workmates, neighbours, friends, colleagues and relatives who you just know would get a boost out of subscribing to Green Left Weekly.
Green Left Weekly survives and thrives on readers' support — join the 400th celebrations and national subscription campaign!
