SYDNEY — Around 60 people rallied in Auburn on September 5, to demand that the federal government allow Afghan refugees to remain in Australia. The government has been rejecting all applications by Afghan asylum seekers to renew their three-year temporary protection visas.

As the first of these visas have expired, more than two dozen asylum seekers have been asked to leave the country within 28 days unless they lodge an appeal. If they unsuccessfully appeal, a hefty fine will apply. For more information on the campaign, phone Angela on 0408 321 327.
