Free your mind — "to those who never give up!"
Free your mind
When you feel alone,
When you get down,
'cause life just belongs,
to those who settle down.
Free your mind
When things have gone wrong,
When they put you behind bars,
'cause here, there, you are useful,
no matter where you are.
Free your mind
Because you are the weapon,
All you need is your hands,
Just keep victory in your soul,
And freedom in your heart.
Free your mind,
Humanity needs you alive!
Now is the time, and here is the place,
We need you to survive!
Free your mind, brother
Free your mind and fight!
Ramon Labanino
[Ramon Labanino is one of five Cuban nationals held in US prisons for alleged espionage activities against Miami-based right-wing groups responsible for over 40 years of bloody terrorist campaigns against the Cuban people. In reality, the Cuban Five gathered information to present to the US authorities to urge them to stop the terrorism perpetrated from US soil and supported by US agencies.
From his cell in the US, Ramon Labanino has written this poem to share with us his determination to never give up the struggle for justice, to urge us to keep "victory in our soul and freedom in our hearts... no matter where we are...".
Australian supporters raised $3529 to contribute to a US$50,000 full-page ad in the March 3 New York Times, which challenged the US government's imprisonment of the Cuban Five while harbouring Miami terrorists. To see the advertisement, visit <http://www.freethefive.org>.]
