Help support the development of progressive and radical TV — Actively Radical TV is offering the Art Resistance Community TV weekly program for purchase on DVD or VHS. The Art Resistance hour is broadcast 9.30-10.30pm on Sunday nights on satellite TV. Each DVD has two one-hour programs.
The latest DVD contains: On program one, "Global Conquest and Corporate Empire" — an edited talk presented by US academic and political activist Michael Parenti, plus a short video documenting the protest against Israeli President Moshe Katsav during his visit to Australia earlier this year.
Program two includes a panel discussion with Greens Senator Kerry Nettle, Anna Samson from Sydney's Stop the War Coalition and legal researcher Nikolai Haddad, discussing the development of the Iraq war, why Australia is so heavily involved and what Australia is gaining through its involvement. The discussion is interspersed with documentary footage showing the destruction of the city of Fallujah by the US military. The program also contains footage of Sydney's 2005 May Day workers' rights protest.
The first Art Resistance DVD contains: On program one, US anti-war activist Stan Goff talking about GI resistance in the US army, a TJ Hickey solidarity action in Redfern and a visit to the Al Almeya bomb shelter in Baghdad in 2001 where a US bomb killed over 400 Iraqi civilians during the 1991 Gulf War.
The second program features talks by Srilata Swaminathan, a central committee member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist — Liberation), at the 2005 Asia Pacific International Solidarity Conference, on the situation in India today. It also includes a 30-minute documentary produced by Actively Radical TV about CPI(ML) activities in northern India.
These DVDs can each be purchased for $15 plus $5 postage and packaging. Or you can get a six-month subscription package and receive eight DVDs of Art Resistance Community TV programs (two hours each) for $96 plus $40 postage (total cost, $136).
