VENEZUELA: Vietnam embassy opens

On March 14, Nguyen Van An, chairperson of Vietnam's National Assembly, opened the new Vietnamese embassy in Caracas, with the aim of fostering closer relations between the countries. During Van An's visit, he met with various representatives of socialist President Hugo Chavez's government. A Venezuelan delegation will soon visit Vietnam to continue to develop the alliance.
