Refugees and supporters protested outside the Department of Immigration in Sydney on August 12 to demand a fair process, permanent protection and family reunion pathways.
Speakers talked about the struggles they face due to not having the right to work, Centrelink or Medicare. They also spoke about being separated from family members, including their children, for the past several years and of fearing relatives and friends could be denied permanent protection and forced to leave.
The rally was organised by Justice for Refugees.
