Around 30 unionists gathered outside Liberal National MP Warren Entsch's office to call for better wages and conditions for workers, an end to insecure work and for a change in government.
Australian Council of Trade Unions President Michelle O'Neill told the rally that 1 in 3 workers are in insecure jobs. “Under the Scott Morrison government, working peoples wages went back $800 ... and at the same time, the cost of living has skyrocketed,” she said.
O'Neill said a change in government is only the first step in ensuring better wages and conditions for workers and pledged to continue the fight no matter who is elected.
