Public and private school teachers went on strike across NSW on June 30.
A huge rally, organised by the NSW Teachers Federation and the Independent Education Union, outside New South Wales Parliament House was told that this was only the second time in history that teachers from both the public and private sectors went on strike at the same time.
The strikers were demanding better pay and conditions, against the government's public sector pay cap and for an end to the cost-cutting mess in schools that is having serious impacts on the education of children.
