Why

Basic democratic rights have been dangerously restricted at the University of Sydney since October 7 last year. Organised by the National Tertiary Education, this public forum will discuss the McCarthyist regime that university authorities are imposing on staff and students, and its consequences for academic freedom, freedom of assembly, and political freedom in general.

When: Wednesday October 16, 5-6.30pm
Where: General Lecture Theatre, Main Quadrangle, University of Sydney and online - link supplied after registration (see below).

Speakers: Wendy Bacon (UTS), Ihab Shalbak (USyd), Mohamed Duar (Amnesty International), Naama Carlin (UNSW and Jewish Council of Australia), Rand Khatib (USyd student).
