Refugees took their protest to the streets on November 17. They walked 10 kilometres from Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s electorate office in Marrickville to immigration minister Tony Burke’s office in Punchbowl with signs to let passers-by know their plight.

The protest, organised by refugees, was called on day 104 of a 24/77 picket for permanent visas set up out outside Burke’s office. They have been calling for permanent visas after having been promised the “Fast Track” process by the Coalition government in 2014.
