Why

Join TJ Hickey's family, friends and supporters at the yearly march to demand justice for 17-year-old TJ Hickey.

Thomas 'TJ' Hickey died after being impaled on a fence while being pursued on his push bike by two NSW police vehicles. Highly publicised protests in Redfern followed TJ's death.

Despite an inquest and a 12,000-signature petition calling for an inquiry that was ignored by the NSW Parliament, the Hickey family continues to fight for justice.

NO JUSTICE = NO PEACE

There is a memorial plaque for TJ in front of the fence where he was impaled, however, the public housing towers in Waterloo are planned to be demolished and replaced by private housing.

The Hickey family would like the memorial plaque - that was kindly donated by the University of Technology Sydney - to be safely placed in Redfern Community Centre. This issue is still pending approval by the City of Sydney Council and will be raised again at the 2025 memorial march.

Please march with us and support the Hickey family, the Redfern community, and the Indigenous Social Justice Association (ISJA).

We will not stop until there is justice.
