Why

Given the genocidal slaughter of Palestinians and Israeli leaders’ statements to ethnically cleanse Palestine and annex both Gaza and the West Bank and parts of Lebanon and Syria, Australians for Humanity is calling on Australian politicians to end their complicity of silence with Israel’s crimes against humanity.
We are calling for candidates in the Federal election to support Australian initiatives to achieve peace with justice
• equality and the right of self-determination of Palestinian people in their homeland,
• a permanent ceasefire and an end to the illegal Israeli Occupation and settlements
• return of all hostages including all political prisoners in Israeli prisons
• programs to re-build Palestinian homes, health and educational services.
Speakers from diverse parts of the Australian community will explain why voters should be encouraged to vote for candidates who support the rulings of the International Court of Justice and will campaign for self-determination for Palestinians.

Speakers:
Sara Saleh, Chair, Palestinian Australian writer/poet and human rights lawyer

Azz Fahmi Australian Syrian and previous employee of UNHCR who has worked in refugee camps in Jordan and Turkey.

Emeritus Professor Stuart Rees AM, member Australians for Humanity, founder inaugural Director Sydney Peace Foundation, Professor Emeritus, University of Sydney.

Jasmine Al-Rawi, Education Officer at the University of Sydney SRC and the co-convenor of Students for Palestine at USYD.

Nikolai Haddad is an activist, secretary of the Arab Theatre Studio and a lawyer practising in the field of employment and discrimination law.
