Moving the Mountain — The story of the Tienanmen Square massacre is retold by those who played leading roles in the democracy movement. The program investigates what changes have occurred in China since the massacre. ABC TV, Sunday, June 4, 8.30pm.

Battle for the trees — Environmentalists fight the practices of multinational timber companies in Canada's British Columbia. The program focuses on the deforestation of Vancouver Island, where the last areas of temperate rainforest outside national parks are slated for logging. SBS, Monday, June 5, 12.30pm.

Green Menace: The Untold Story of Golf — From gambling to deforestation, from army generals to a beauty pageant for caddies, from lethal chemicals to confrontations with international golfing superstars, this doco explores the golf boom and its social, economic and environmental impact in Thailand. SBS, Monday, June 5, 1.25pm.

Movie Matinee: The Bomb (1987) — An explosives expert places a bomb in the middle of Hamburg and threatens to set it off if worldwide disarmament negotiations are not started. SBS, Tuesday, June 6, 12.30pm.

The Illegals — The "inside story" of the Soviet intelligence operatives who infiltrated Western spy agencies during the Cold War. ABC TV, Tuesday, June 6, 11pm.

Women's World Cup Soccer — Highlights of the Denmark-Australia match. SBS, Wednesday, June 7, 5.05pm.

Date Rape — This special examines how the police and courts handle cases of date rape, using role playing by actual police, judges, lawyers and jurors. ABC TV, Wednesday, June 7, 8.30pm.

Wise Up — This new series promises to ask the questions and cover the topics that young people want to talk about: topics such as HIV/AIDS, abortion, drugs and sex. Each week for 10 weeks young people will gather for a studio discussion with other young people with direct knowledge and experience of the issues under discussion. ABC TV, Wednesday, June 7, 9.45pm and every Wednesday thereafter.

When the Lights Go Out — Just when you thought it was safe to declare yourself rid of the last vestiges of anthropocentrism, the ABC goes and airs this program on the lives of the most disgusting of evil little critters, the cockroach! This wildlife doco brings you face to face with a natural world of pathos, humour, steamy sex, gluttony, euphoria and tragedy. ABC TV, Thursday, June 8, 8pm.
