Why

Palestine Justice Movement Sydney (PJMS) is hosting a forum delving into the growing boycott movement in the fight for the liberation of Palestine. The forum will discuss the boycott campaign against ZIM shipping, its goals and potential, and how it fits within the broader context of Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement.

What role does industrial boycott, such as the Block the ZIM Boat campaign, play in a liberation movement?
What motivates boycott campaigns (including academic, art, etc.) and where do they sit in the global effort to end Israeli system of apartheid? And how far can the power of boycott go?

The forum will Feature the following panellists:
Palestinian Australian writer, poet, human rights, lawyer and activist SARA SALEH
A PJMS representative on behalf of the Palestinian community in Sydney Dr AHMED QASEM
Sydney branch secretary of the Maritime Union Australia PAUL KEATING
Member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly representing Newtown for the Greens JENNY LEONG
Academic at Sydney university and long-time activist for Palestine Dr NICK RIEMER

This event is in person and will be streamlined on PJMS social media.
