Countless hours of research, writing and editing go into each issue of Green Left Weekly. The paper's production team puts a great deal of effort — along with a pinch of hair-pulling and stress — into producing Australia's leading alternative news weekly.
Then there are the hundreds of volunteers who help distribute the paper — on street corners, on picket lines, at rallies and meetings, in workplaces and universities, at festivals and cultural events. Just about anywhere there is a gathering of progressive people, Green Left Weekly is there to report the event, as well as provide information about the pro-people campaigns happening elsewhere in Australia and overseas.
Unfortunately, Green Left Weekly can't cover every progressive event every week; there is a limit to the people, time and resources available. Yet we know there are thousands of people "out there" who haven't come across the paper yet and who are looking for something other than the Murdoch-Packer Daily Trash.
As a supporter of the paper, you can make a difference to how widely Green Left gets around. Whether passing on your copy to a friend, or leaving it at the local library, it all helps break the big business media's monopoly.
Even better, why not surprise a friend with an introductory subscription to the paper? All it takes is a (free) call to the Green Left Weekly hotline: 1800 634 206.
Perhaps you have some spare time to help sell Green Left Weekly? Or maybe you could give a hand with wrapping subscriptions? Contact your nearest Resistance Centre (see page 2) to find out how you can help Green Left get to more people. Green Left Weekly — it's your newspaper.
