Israel wants land, not peace

Twenty people attended a meeting to discuss the need for greater solidarity with Palestine on February 11.

The meeting, organised by the Socialist Alliance, featured Abe Quadan, a Council member of the Centre of Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Sydney. Quadan is also the Secretary of the Australian Palestinian Support Association.

Discussion focused on the real reasons why Israel launched its latest attack on Gaza. Israel is attempting to destroy the Palestinian resistance and thus secure its control over historic Palestine.

Lasting peace can only be achieved when the national rights of Palestinians are restored and the apartheid state of Israel is dismantled.
