Joe Bullock resigns from Senate

Right-wing Western Australian senator Joe Bullock has announced his resignation from the Senate over Labor's decision to remove the conscience vote for equal marriage rights in 2019.

The former head of the WA branch of the Shop, Distributive and Allied Employees Association entered the Senate in 2014 after a back-room deal to dump the Left's Louise Pratt.

On the extreme right of the Labor Party, he has opposed every progressive move— the republic, abortion, the Safe Schools anti-bullying program and other “weird lefty trends” —and reportedly turned his back during an Aboriginal Welcome to Country.

But what really outraged the socially irrelevant Christian was that Labor MPs should follow Labor policy and vote in favour of marriage equality.

Hopefully this is the last we will hear of him.
