Mass Olympic evictions threatened

SYDNEY — South Sydney Council is evicting squatters in empty council buildings at 147-159 Broadway, near Glebe. The council had planned to evict the squatters on August 28, but public support and media attention forced a delay. The council does not intend to use the buildings, which will be boarded up. A win for the squatters will help the hundreds of other homeless who are evicted from empty buildings without public knowledge and protest. Protest against the evictions to South Sydney Council on (02) 9288 5000.
