At the April 27 Unions NSW meeting it was reported that four Sydney-based combined delegate meetings would take place at the following locations:

  • May 18, 10am — Masonic Centre, Sydney and Blacktown RSL; l<~>May 15, 10am — Nepean Rowers Club, Penrith; and

  • May 17, 10am — Parramatta RSL.

Meetings are also being organised in a number regional NSW towns. The meetings will discuss the direction of the "Your Rights at Work" campaign and a resolution will be put to delegates to vote on.

June 28 is the ACTU-called Workers and Community National Day of Protest, for which the Victorian Trades Hall Council, the Queensland Council of Unions and a range of unions in WA are organising protest rallies. In NSW, some union officials are opposing the organisation of protests on the day.

To ensure that NSW is part of the national day of protest, delegates attending the combined unions meetings in May will need to highlight the action taking place in other states and insist that Unions NSW join its interstate counterparts in calling public action on June 28.
