Protests against the war in Ukraine took place across Australia on March 6, a global day of action.

In Newcastle, Kathy Fairfax reports that members of the Ukrainian and Russian communities joined the action to call for an end to the war in Ukraine. Speakers included Linda Forbes from the Hunter Peace Group, Niko Leka from Socialist Alliance and a representative from the Quakers.

In Sydney, Peter Boyle reports that peace and anti-war groups in Sydney joined the global protest against Russia's war in Ukraine. They also called for an end to NATO's expansionism, not forgetting the West's meddling and provocations.

In Perth on March 5, a protest was organised by the Ukrainian community to condemn Russia's invasion of Ukraine and to demand their withdrawal.

In Uralla, Bea Bleile reports that a handful of protesters received good support from passers-by and honks from drivers.
