PROTEST FOR GAZA!
1PM SATURDAY, SYDNEY TOWN HALL
Join us this Saturday for a protest and march, commencing at Sydney Town Hall at 1pm, marching through the city and back to Town Hall.
Israel has now killed 2,400 Palestinians, including around 800 children, in its criminal bombardment of the Gaza Strip.
Hospitals are running out of fuel, and all food and water continues to be cut off from the population of 2.3 million, of whom nearly half are children.
300,000 Israeli soldiers are poised to launch a brutal ground invasion, while Israel has ordered the forced "evacuation" of 1.1 million people from North Gaza. This is ethnic cleansing, carried out with terror and mass murder. This is genocide.
Our Government continues to give full support to Israel's war crimes.
On Sunday, we held a massive and peaceful demonstration of 10,000 people in Hyde Park, including people from Muslim, Jewish and Christian communities, proving the Premier Chris Minns and so much of the media wrong, who wanted to paint Palestine protesters as violent.
This Saturday, we need to mobilise in even bigger numbers to demand:
- Stop the massacre in Gaza!
- Stop the bombing!
- No ground invasion!
- End the blockade of food, water, fuel and all other supplies!
- Rescind the evacuation order!
- End the violent ethnic cleansing of Palestinians in the West Bank and East Jerusalem!
- End the Australian Government's support for apartheid Israel and it's war crimes against the Palestinians!
- Free Palestine!
We acknowledge that this rally and march will be held on stolen Aboriginal land and that sovereignty was never ceded.
We need all protest attendees to observe the incredibly peaceful and disciplined behaviour we saw on Sunday, so that we don't give NSW authorities any excuse to threaten our right to protest.
The same protest rules will apply:
There is consensus among organisers and community leaders that people who want to come and attend with the intention to engage in criminal conduct - including violence or religious vilification - should not come and they are not welcome either at the rally or in our movement.
We have expectations for our attendees on Sunday. Attending this protest means you accept to behave to the standard we request; otherwise, you are not welcome at this rally.
1. We will not tolerate the use of flares. You will be removed from the rally.
2. We will not tolerate antisemitic chants or any other conduct that vilifies any race or religion. This could constitute a criminal offence. You will also be removed from the rally.
3. We will not tolerate the burning of flags. This could constitute a criminal offence and may create a fire hazard. You will be removed.
4. We will not tolerate any person bringing flags or any items associated with Hezbollah or Hamas or any other item associated with Government-designated terrorist organisations. Having these flags in your possession is a criminal offence. You will be removed from the rally.
5. Except for religious or medical reasons, people should not cover their faces. This helps us to prevent any infiltrators coming to cause trouble and discredit our movement for Palestine.
We thank everyone for their cooperation.
FREE PALESTINE!
