Forty people joined a protest organised by Defend Abortion Rights outside an anti-abortion conference at the Good Sheppard Church in Kelmscott on October 29.

The conference was hosted by the Coalition in Defence of Human Life, and featured former Liberal senator Eric Abetz, Liberal MLC Nick Goiran and former Catholic Archbishop Barry Hickey.

Far-right Christian nationalists carrying crosses and signs with “Christ the King” and Australian flags attempted to confront the protesters.

Protesters chanted “Pro-life is a lie, you don’t care if women die” as they sought to disrupt the anti-abortion event.

They vowed to continue campaigning for free, legal and accessible abortions.
