'Round Midnight: The Asian Connection — British Asian singer Shiela Chandra talks to Jaslyn Hall's weekly black music program about her new album Weaving My Ancestors Voices. A live concert featuring Pakistani qwaali singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan will also be broadcast. ABC Radio National, Sat December 5, 9.02 p.m.

Out On Wednesday: Ancient Wonders with Robyn Archer — Tonight's concert features Robyn Archer in performance with members of the Sydney-based group the Mambologists. They perform songs written by Robyn over the past 10 years and never previously recorded. A CD of the songs will be released in February next year. ABC FM Stereo, Wed December 9, 8 p.m.

Current affairs on 3PBS FM (106.7) — Melbourne public radio station 3PBS FM broadcasts several progressive current affairs programs. Undercurrents: A half-hour, independent current affairs programme, every Monday to Friday, 5.30 p.m. Dispatches: A program dealing with Third World issues. Every Monday, 8.30 a.m. Bottom Line: Consumer issues. Every Wednesday, 8.30 a.m. Watching Brief: An update on environmental issues. Every Friday, 8.30 a.m.

Poetry at the Pub on the Airwaves — Newcastle's 2NUR FM (103.7) presents the verbal arts in a relaxed atmosphere throughout December. Poetry at the Pub makes for some very enjoyable listening. Every Thursday Night in December at 9 p.m. (repeated every Fri at 6 p.m.).
