Rally: Preston | Free Palestine

Actions, protests & rallies
Naarm/Melbourne

When

6:00pm Thursday 18 January

Where

Office of Ged Kearney
159 High St
Preston VIC 3072
Australia

Why

This is a community-led protest to demand that the Australian government do more to protect the people of Palestine. Gaza has been under attack from the Israeli military for nearly 3 months and our government is not taking enough action to stop Israel's onslaught.

We will gather outside the office of Ged Kearney, the Labor Government MP for Cooper, to demand that she properly represent those in her electorate who want stronger government action to protect Palestinians. There will be a number of local speakers.

Every year, the Australian government approves military contracts between Australian and Israeli military companies, to supply Israel with the military apparatus to kill Palestinian civilians.

Currently, the Australian government provides assistance to the Israel Defence Force via the Pine Gap surveillance base to assist them in killing Palestinian civilians in Gaza.

And further, the Australian government provides diplomatic support for Israel by refusing to publicly condemn their genocide, ethnic cleansing and war crimes against Palestinian people.

This rally is for the people of Cooper who demand better from their government and their local representative, Ged Kearney. Please come, bring your signs and banners, and tell her you demand more action from her to protect Palestinians.
