Why

Israel is ramping up its horrific attack on the 2.3 million inhabitants of the Gaza Strip, bombing hundreds of residential buildings, and massing hundreds of thousands of soldiers to prepare for a ground assault.

The rally will now take place at Hyde Park.

Israel is now blocking all food, water, electricity, fuel and medical supplies. This is a war crime by any definition.

Israeli PM Netanyahu has declared that Gaza will be turned into a "desert island". Israeli MPs are openly calling for a second Nakba, and Israel's defence minister has labelled Palestinians "animals".

All this is a continuation, in horribly escalated form, of the 75 years of war that Israel has waged on the Palestinian people, including 16 years of brutal siege on Gaza.

Palestinians have the right to defend themselves, and to resist colonialism, military occupation, massacre and racist apartheid policies.

Join us to protest these atrocities, and to demand:

Stop the war on Gaza!

End the blockade of food, water, fuel and medical supplies!

End the Israeli occupation!

Australia to cut ties with Apartheid Israel!

Free Palestine!

We remind everyone that the struggle for a free Palestine is an anti-racist struggle. We condemn and oppose all forms of racism, including anti-semitism and Islamophobia.

Ours is a struggle against the state of Israel, not against Jewish people, many of whom oppose Zionism, and who have a long history of being part of our movement for a free Palestine.

Anyone wishing to express anti-semitic views is not welcome at our protests.

-------------

----
We have the right to demonstrate.
Palestinians are facing a genocide in Gaza with food, electricity and water supplies being denied. Gaza has run out of fuel and the Director of Shifa Hospital has stated this will lead to a mass grave. Israeli politicians are calling for a second Nakba and for Gaza to be nuked. The Australian government has come out in full support of this genocide and has Palestinian blood on its hands.
They have denied us a permit to march on Sunday, but that does not mean we have lost the right to protest, and we will not allow that to stop us. We will demonstrate, loud and proud. The Palestinian people deserve our solidarity.

To reduce legal risks, we have moved the rally to Hyde park. This will be a static rally, we will not march but we will be loud, we will be proud and we will show the State that we are in full support of the Palestinian people and will not bow down to their attempts to silence our movement.
